HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT --> UNI --> WALL STREET!

So I am going to apply for university this year, definitely going into the business route. Eventually end up in Wall Street (not really eventually, straight out of uni! If possible)

Here are the schools I am looking at: -Wharton (Reach) -Michigan -Georgetown -UVA -Carnegie Mellon -Emory -UNC -Notre Dame -Boston College (or should I just completely take this out?) -Texas at Austin (Safety) -Indiana (Safety)

*When I visited unis during the summer, I realised that I didn't really like NYU and Berkeley...so I'm not applying there.

I also put this in order of ranking (from looking at forums, having a better idea of recruitment into Wall Street.)

Anything I am missing, do you think my safeties are good enough? Also, I have heard that I should look at graduate rankings instead of undergraduate rankings. Tell me what you think!

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, how bad do you hate NYU and UCB? Cause they're both better than everything on there except Wharton.

Also what about all of the other Ivies?

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Eh, NYU over Michigan for undergrad business? I don't think so. Berkely, probably, but not NYU. 'spose I'm biased though :)

Op, unless you are IS, Texas is NOT a safety. I know a girl who got into Brown and Northwestern but was REJECTED from Texas. Personally, I would take Texas over Emory and UNC.

Agreed, UT is not a safety if you're from out of state. I got in from out of state but wasn't guaranteed housing (not even in jester), or even my major :( UNC is also very hard to get into from out of state.

Where do you want to live? If New York, do Wharton/Harvard/etc. If Chicago, do Notre Dame/Chicago/Northwestern/Indiana's IB Program/Michigan. CMU recruits more heavily for S&T in both locations. If Houston, do Texas/Rice for energy IB, or Tulane/A&M for energy s&t.

UT out of state is difficult to get into and not worth it (unless you LOVE live music and college fball). If you want finance, NYU>>>>>>>>UTexas

Also, UNC out of state? Why? Unless there is a specific program or department you're looking at there is no reason to go. Might as well go to Rutgers and be close to NYC.

I want to be in NYC, and get into Wall Street after uni, I don't think my scores are high enough to get into Ivies, that's why Wharton is my reach. But I don't want to be in NYC during my college years, like NYU. Opinions? Oh and how about safeties if UNC and Texas aren't safeties?
