How do some people do the weekend MBA programs where they don't reside?

Let's say someone lives in Boston and they are attending the part-time MBA program in New York or Chicago, how are they doing it?

Do they really fly every weekend? And your company pays for everything? Kind of a sweet deal but doing that for 3 years?

shorttheworldits not every weekend its every other
This is wrong, at least for Booth. Booth is every weekend. Every Saturday to be specific. The people I know who did it out of NY actually found it relatively manageable. Fly out early Saturday morning, they have a shuttle that takes you from O'Hare to the Gleacher Center, go to class, then take the shuttle back to the airport and you are home Saturday night. It's eleven weeks at a time and classes last till 4:30 at the latest. About 50% of the students travel from outside the midwest for the program.

There are two, from what I have seen, different schedules which allow this to work.

1) Every Saturday - This allows you to fly out Friday night and be back Sunday to prepare for work Monday. It doesnt change week to week so thats good too.

2) Every other or 3 weekends a month. This is obviously more difficult but allows you to retain at least one weekend of normalcy. I think UVA does it this way but I'm not sure.

Either way, some companies will actually pay for the travel as part of sponsoring you for the program.

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses - Henry Ford
