Both schools place quite well in London, however it depends what course you do.

UCD

The majority of students come from the BSc Economics and Finance. It is probably the best course in Ireland and has a lot of alumni in London. I know lots of people doing/have done this course and have had no issues getting to London. It also allows you to study a semester abroad as well as complete a year long internship. The top M&A/investment management/ private equity firms in Dublin fight for Ec & Fi students each year so you will be coming out of university with potentially 1+ year of great experience. It is very hard to get into, for Irish students you need the maximum 625/625 points in the leaving cert and even at that, you aren't guaranteed entry.

Commerce is another programme in UCD but it is definitely not as highly regarded as ec & fi. However, you still get great placement internship opportunities.

Trinity

I would regard trinity as a (very close) second for Irish students wanting to work in London. Although it is more internationally recognised than UCD, it doesn't seem to place as well as UCD Economics & Finance. A reason I suspect for this is that Trinity don't offer a internship as part of the course. So, you could be going up against someone in UCD with 1+ years of M&A experience for example. However, you still have solid chances of getting to London from Trinity through a summer internship. It sends students to top firms in London each year. Target courses for Trinity would be:

MSISS (Management Science and Information Systems)

Business and Economics

Mathematics

Another school that places students in London quite regularly is University College Cork on the BSc Finance programme. Their 1+ year intership placement programme is also fantastic.

Wow thanks for the great answer. I’m actually looking more into graduate degrees. Either finance or sustainable finance (before: renewable energy and environmental finance or sth like that)

I’m not really that interested in m&a, but rather infrastructure finance. It’s quite niche tho I guess.
I’m currently doing an internship in debt advisory so I would also be fine with that. Nearly all boutiques have debt advisory teams now, don’t they?
Overall I really like the topic of renewable energies hence the thought about the MSc in Sustainable finance. It’s at UCD.

On the other hand idk whether a Msc Finance without the energy/sustainability part might be better regarded by companies.
