How Quantitative Is The Tepper MBA Program?
I see that the Tepper MBA program requires Calc 1 and calc 2 or a stats course. Any Tepper MBA grads on here that can tell me how quantitative the program is? My undergrad school made us take calc 1 because it was vital to understanding finance, but truth be told there is only one other finance class that ever used calc again and it was required for less than 5% of the course.
Could someone who is God awful at calculus make it through the Tepper MBA program, or should I set my sites on the USC, Cornell, and Georgetown programs? I've heard most MBA programs aren't that quantitative as they need to be prepared to deal with career changing liberal arts majors, but Tepper appears to be a bit more quantitative.
I go to CMU as an undergrad but I've taken quite a few grad courses, and I can tell you that if you can't even do basic calc, you're not going to enjoy Tepper.
What a stupid requirement. Why would you want to make MBA's do Calc?
You'b be surprised how many top programs don't focus on calc at all.
That's what I thought was the norm in any MBA program. Obviously you need to have a sharp mind that can quantitatively analyze problems, but that does not require working with limits or complex numbers.
