Ignorant prospective JD/MBA looking for advice on breaking into IB/PE
Ok, this will probably sound crazy to most of you, but I've been applying to law schools (I've already gotten accepted into UMich), and I'm strongly considering adding on the MBA at whatever school I end up attending. My B.S. was in chemical engineering with three years of experience in oil & gas. That being said, what is the potential to break into IB/PE if I decide to go that route and do a JD/MBA? Will the JD be valued at all? What about my quantitative background in engineering? Given that Harvard/Stanford are very difficult law schools to get into, which of the top law schools would you recommend I target that also have MBA programs with the most ideal pipelines? Oh, and any additional advice is always appreciated. Thanks!
