Imperial vs Erasmus masters for London S&T
Have to choose between Imperial msc in risk managment and financial engineering and Erasmus msc in Quantitative Finance with the goal of doing S&T in London. I know the Imperial brand name is pretty unrivalled in London but is it really worth the massive fee difference (£47k vs €2.5k) plus higher living costs? Have also heard the imperial business school doesnt quite have the rep of its STEM degrees. I also have a previous S&T summer internship in a US BB in London so can good experience make up for a bit less prestige.
Any one have any advice?
I have worked with the Imperial risk managment and financial engineering guys and they seem to do alright? when it comes to S&T offers.
Haven't heard too many of them, though. I think it's worth it but it depends which department you're under. If maths, yes go for it. If business school, I'd be less inclined.
It’s through their business school which makes me a slight bit more apprehensive
yes understandable....
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to consider:
Imperial's Brand Name vs. Erasmus' Cost Efficiency:
Reputation of Imperial Business School:
Your Previous S&T Internship:
Placement and Networking Opportunities:
Recommendation:
If cost is a major concern, Erasmus offers a solid program with a strong quantitative focus at a fraction of the cost. Given your prior S&T experience, you could still position yourself competitively for London roles. However, if you can manage the financial burden, Imperial's program provides better access to London-based opportunities and a stronger brand name, which could make a difference in a competitive field like S&T.

Erasmus if you talk about Imperial Business School. Imperial if a STEM program :)
The Dean of ICBS must have done unspeakable things to you / your family, this level of obsession is unhinged.
Ye imperial is clear, rsm is a Safe choice where you spend less but you also get less. This sub has super Bocconi PR and puts escp at the same level of RSM. Honestly LinkedIn speaks a lot more about masters than this sub,
