International Finance & Real Estate

Hey guys –

I’m thinking about getting an MBA in International Finance / Global Business and pairing it up with a Real Estate concentration. I’ve always thought global finance was complex yet interesting and would love to parlay my current CRE experience on a global scale with the MBA. Target areas would be development, acquisitions, and portfolio/asset management. My mother worked for a large PE firm doing asset management for their Asian RE investments, so we’ve spoken a lot about her thoughts and experiences, but she didn’t have the true real estate background I do.

Schools I’m targeting are Cornell, Rutgers, Fordham, and maybe Stern (long shot). Ideally, I’d take the GMAT this summer and hopefully enroll fall 2024. I’m also considering part time options, which would begin as early as January 2024 and would try to finish that kind of program as quickly as possible.

Wondering if you guys think the MBA would make sense given what I’m interested in? I’m a senior analyst at a debt brokerage and don’t see the deal life for me long-term. I think on paper the true RE background plus an international finance-focused MBA might be attractive, but you tell me.

Thanks everyone!
