Investment Banking vs Business School
I thought this was a good thought experiment as I look towards my next steps (currently an analyst)
What experiences can you gain from INVESTMENT BANKING ASSOCIATE that overlap with and miss in business school?
I am struggling to warrant paying $300k for business school when I can stay in IB and make $$$ as an associate.
Business school is if you want some time off to party, build a network and change careers. There is no benefit to going to business school if you're an IB analyst and want to stay in IB - take the promotion.
Network, fun, time off. If you do IB out of undergrad and want to go back to banking after business school, there are not any immediate professional, educational, or technical experiences that you gain. It's all about the intangibles.
