Is University past a certain point pointless?
I want to preface this by saying that I'm still a student at a non-target school but have had multiple internships in finance. I haven't really seen my higher-level classes in finance and accounting translate into practical applications. Of course, a basic understanding of accounting and finance is essential, but beyond that, I've learned most of the "applicable skills" on my own time through online resources. I'm slated to work in finance in NYC, but I'm really curious if I'm the only one who feels this way or if I'm just a naive undergraduate. Should I be paying more attention to school, or is this a well-known aspect of education? Thanks
