Johns Hopkins University - Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Buy Side Placement
What up Wall Street! I am an incoming freshman at Johns Hopkins University, curious about the Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Private Equity Placement of Hopkins Undergrads. How many typically go to BBs, EBs, and elite Buy Side Firms out of undergrad? After conducting some research, I saw that there is an investment team where the kids locked in some number of summer internships at elite EBs and BBS firms, but the team seems quite dense and selective (with about five or six students per class), so I am wondering about the majority interested in finance that are not on the team. Do the others still place at top firms - EBs and BBs? Is there an Investment Banking Club at Hopkins, preparing students and helping them place on the street? How is the alumni network? Are they pro-active when it comes to helping the students land internships? I know its labeled by many as a pre-med factory, but it is still a top 10 school in the country regardless, so I imagine it is flourishing some of America's best young minds - something Wall Street would want a piece of Is the population of business-motivated students on campus growing and striving? If so, is the university supporting it? All insights are important. Needless to say, I am stoked to attend JHU and am excited to see what the next four years have in store. It seems to me like a truly special community, really one of its one.
