Kelley on the come up?
I go to Kelley and Im not gonna suck it off and say its better than obv Ross/Duke/Uchicago. But this year's placement has been pretty crazy. Hella people at BB, EB, and MM let alone consulting placement. I def think our placement is similar to USC/UNC for this year.
Kelley is getting better and though it is clowned on, I feel like it isnt as bad as people say it is. I just wanted to hear thoughts.
God knows how many JS you guys have. Iykyk
What's the point of this post other than trying to get some affirmation or confirmation bias?
Just hearing thoughts. If you disagree with me, thats cool too. Just wanna hear what other people think
Sure I get that but, honestly, why does it matter what other people think?
If you think Kelley is doing great then you should feel happy that you have a good platform, don't let other people define your own opinion
Not to get too deep, but I've noticed that in finance ppl really care about how other people view them. When I was recruiting, I thought kids who got offers at EVR/GS were like gods, but turns out it's not all it's cracked up to be. It's much like how Sartre suggested that people have no intrinsic identity but rather, they derive their identities based on how other people treat them. Point is: don't let other people define you--if you like IU that's great, but you shouldn't feel the need to convince others to approve of IU to affirm your belief
My firm won’t interview kelley laterals because they lie about race / sexual orientation
That joke died like 6 months ago. I don't go to Kelley but I don't even think it would be fair to penalize a whole school based on the actions of a couple individuals
Joke? Couple individuals? It was like 6 kids
IBW is the target school. Kelley itself is like a low semi-target.
I agree to a certain extent. Def was like that previously, but this year a sizeable amount of people outside the IBW broke into MM and a few broke into BBs and EBs.
agreed, know a couple people who placed out of the MSF as well. Tons of Kelley grads in Chicago too.
Kelley is a great school for people who are academically incompetent and want to work in IB
Says the consultant, point valid though.
Kelley is as good as any other Low-Semi State School (OSU/PSU/UI/ASU) for placement. State Schools have made it easier to create feeders for BB recruitment through pipelines, but it's not any better in comparison to other relevant schools.
Could you elaborate on this, I'm not sure if I should pick Fisher or Kelley. I have been hearing pretty rough things about Kelley lately.
I'm a bit more informed on this now and I recently made a comment about someone who was debating UW Madison or Kelley.
I haven't heard anything bad from Kelley lately. I just went through recruiting and in all of my Superdays I saw at least one Kelley student in a sea of T20 business schools. I believe they placed ~80 students in IBD for this SA class, which is absolutely incredible for schools on this tier. I think Fisher is quite solid as well but I would say after these most recent recruitment statistics and personal anecdotes, Kelley is probably among the best State schools for placement, and certainly a cut above all the schools I mentioned in my original comment.
