Land an internship in Zurich

Dear all, I would like to ask your opinion on this. I have been accepted at quantitative finance and risk management for the year 2017-2018 (Bocconi).I have been working as a data analyst for two years now and have picked alot of technical skills such as Python, R , sql , excel and some machine learning. My goal is to work in risk and intern in Zurich but i don't speak German.I come from Greece so i have an eu passport . Would this be possible or will i have a hard time landing a job there?

Well i hope you are right because there are a lot of people from a forum called englishforum.ch who can't speak a word german and have been unemployed for like 6 months and above. But i guess they are random people and not exactly into finance. I have checked a lot of jobs in Zurich and they don't seam to be enough entry level ones that don't require German.

"Michael90" You won't have a problem finding an internship there. I have a lot of friends there and none of them speak any German. We are all from the UK. Some jobs do require German but it's mostly only English required. There are a lot of Bocconi alums working in Zurich so I'm sure you'll be able to reach out once you get started. Good luck.

This. btw, networking is key in Zurich.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Yes, you can. You'd be surprised by the sheer number of expats who don't speak German in Switzerland and Zurich, specifically.

100% correct. I know quite a few native English speakers who live and work in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Basel or Zürich. It is obviously always a good idea to pick up the local language for personal growth and be part of the adopted culture. But you'll be fine if you don't.
