Learning technicals for club interviews at target
Hi monkeys. How would you recommend learning technicals for top clubs at target schools? I.e. WITG at Penn. It seems like stock pitching is an essential component. Is there a book or YouTube channel I could use to learn those?
bump, prefosh with same question

Transferring to a target so I had same question. Check out the peak framework stuff. Gives good amount of technical stuff and gives you practice on modeling too
helpful thank you
Seems so ridiculous that you have to interview to get into a student club. Who do these kids think they are? I get that these clubs act as pipelines into IB positions, but the whole thing is just absurd and reeks of hardo-ness.
This is why the NESCACs are better. At my school (W/A), clubs cannot get school funding if they have applications.
It’s silly I agree. But these clubs are crucial in some schools

Honestly think coachability > technicals (from personal and friends' experience at top clubs at different targets)
There are some good pitches on YouTube if you search pitch comps
You could also read some write-ups/pitches produced by these clubs (should be posted on their websites). This also shows initiatives and gives you a glimpse of the club
Makes sense. Appreciate it
Understand what makes a business a good business. Have in mind a company to pitch and really know your company inside and out. What would be impressive is if you can find some kind of edge in your pitch. What doesn't the market know that you know? Why is this the right time to buy?
Would probably check out Pershing Square Competition videos on youtube. Most of them arent great but its good enough for something like WITG. VIC can be helpful also but the quality is pretty hit or miss.
CFA research challenge on YouTube has a shit ton of pitches. Should help. And CFA also posts the winning research reports, you could read those as well
