LSE vs Bocconi vs SSE
Fortunate to have received offers from the following schools, and have a hard time choosing.
-
LSE MSc Accounting and Finance
-
Bocconi MSc Finance
-
SSE MSc Finance
Profile: Nordic, and I am finishing my undergrad at a nordic university this semester. No relevant work experience.
Will likely work in the nordics after graduation, but wouldn't mind keeping international doors open. Goal is IB after graduation.
Any input is appreciated. Thank you!
SSE if you want to stay in the nordics, LSE if you want to give LDN IB a shot after. You can always return to the nordics after LSE too. Would drop Bocconi in this case. Also depends on how cost sensitive you are, SSE being the cheaper option vs LSE.
Best of luck!
Thank you!
LSE MSc Accounting and Finance for sure if your goal is IB in London after
mama mia
Given your profile, SSE.
Do you want to do 1 year MSc vs 2 years MSc? Nordic people that go abroad usually place well in banking so wouldn't limit yourself to Scandinavia unless you really want to stay there. In terms of prestige, there is a notable gap between LSE and Bocconi compared to SSE when it comes to placement in banking. LSE A&F is part of their Accounting department and not Finance so a shit tone of your modules will be accounting.
Would personally go Bocconi or LSE, coming from a nordic person myself.
To my knowledge, LSE is more theoretical than SSE and Bocconi. All the three schools are solid in terms of prestige and placement, so if so want to study abroad (and willing so splash the cash) then go for whatever you feel like.
If you consider London afterwards, go with LSE. Even if you wanna work in Nordics post graduation, LSE will ring better. I am involved with recruiting for the bank’s IBD internship in Stockholm and we are flooded with MSc SSE applications, and without previous finance experience it’s gonna be tough. Coming from LSE and Bocconi however, you will most likely get invited to the first round.
Thank you!
