Master vs. Bachelor

Hello,
I have a quick question. If you enter IB or PE with "only" a bachelor's degree and don't want to do a master's, does that put you at a long-term disadvantage for promotions or for your exit, or is a master's no longer so important these days?
Does anyone have any experience with this, or simply knowledge?
It would be very interesting for me to know.

Do you really think that in the long term, so of course there are always companies that consider such things unnecessary, and I believe that even if that is the case, you work for a good company. But if you want to change companies later on, it can look completely different again. And then you have to compete for the same job with other people who have similar qualifications and a Master's degree.
And furthermore, if you look at the profiles of most MDs and CFOs in the company, most of them (with a few exceptions) all have a Master's degree!

My friend is an MD at GS/MS with only a bachelor's. He graduated valedictorian and did 3 years as an analyst in IB and then was promoted to associate.

But isn't this the exception rather than the norm? I mean, if you look at the LinkdIN profiles of MDs or CFOs, they all (with a few exceptions) have a Master's degree.

Yeah you’re right it is the exception.

No one in the UK gets MBAs or even Masters.

Not needed.

Most of my MDs only have bachelors. Even the ones who moved here from America
