MBA: Booth or Kellogg or Yale SOM?

Title just about covers it. Been accepted to these 3 MBA programs and unsure if the “Ivy League” name of Yale carries more weight than the current #1 ranking of Booth’s MBA. Kellogg is also ranked higher than SOM, but lower than Booth, but I would argue that the people/culture seem the most relaxed. Any recommendations on where to go to place well in IB?

As a Booth alum, I’d say that you would easily achieve your IB goal post-MBA by going to either Booth or Kellogg. I cannot speak to Yale due to my lack of familiarity with the program and having never encountered Yale alums through work, but I do think there is a meaningful drop-off in brand recognition and presence on the street between Yale and Booth/Kellogg. I don’t think the ivy-league name of Yale makes a meaningful difference in the circles that matter — everyone in banking, particularly those that do recruiting, understand the difference between the reputations of the undergrad program and the MBA program at all three schools.

Regardless, congrats! You have a great path ahead!

For IB probably CBS/Booth > Kellogg. The only difference is the small boutiques that will show up for CBS and maybe Booth. For example, Raine, Centerview, Allen & Co. etc. all recruit at CBS (and most probably Booth) but won't spend the time at Kellogg. Unless you have specific industry/firm interests it won't matter too much. They'll collectively hire something like 5 people out of the 100 that recruit at a place like CBS. You'll get the same looks for the traditional BBs and EBs at either.
