MBA vs MFS/MFE .... and what Business School (preferably local NYC)

Hello everybody,

My GPA is low somewhere around 2.5
I took my GMAT and got a 630.
I am a female

My questions are:
1. Should I look into an MBA program, or not? If not, what M.S. in Finance do you recommend?
I read MFE has a very competitive job market once you're graduated.
2. If you recommend I look into MBA, what business school would you recommend in the are of NYC? I was reading in this forum that not all the schools in NYC are Finance World worthy.
3. If you think MBA is not what I should go for right now, but a Masters in Finance, please advice any schools that you would recommend. Once again NYC is my preference, but i won't rule out any other options.
4. I applied to Columbia for the J-Term (yes I know, but a girl can have dreams right?!) and did not get accepted ..... I forgot to mention earlier that i took the GMAT twice in 2 months. The first time i got a 460 :( :( and this is the score I submitted to Columbia when I applied. I am thinking about re-applying to CBS now for the Fall term with my new 630 gmat score. Do you think I stand a chance??? (I can definitely use the $250 app fee on smth better or if I stand a slim chance I am more than happy to gamble it)
5. Lastly, please add any other info that you think will clear up my mind about my future career. I am a smart girl and a hard worker. I made a few mistakes in the past but I am in a different mindset now.

I apologize with all these questions and the long info I made you read.
I look forward to your help.
Thank you
M.

You should do MBA. You're too old for MSF. That being said, you should try to pull up your GMAT. It is also not impossible to make the jump from USF ugrad to a top MBA. I am a recent sun belt grad at a M7. Good luck.

However, don't just get an MBA because you think you need it. Make sure it's actually a good investment - not all degrees are the same. And if you want Wall Street, you need at least Top 20, and preferably a M7.
