MFin at UVA?
So I am still waiting on several colleges that all come out next week, but as of right now I am settled on UVA. Cost is no issue, but I was wondering if it was worth getting an MFin through the 5 year undergrad program at McIntire.
Due to AP classes and such in high school I have 40 credits that I can transfer at UVA, I'm going to enter college (if UVA) already having finished Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra, as well as many other AP classes. The total number of credits is around 40 and you need 120 to graduate, so basically I've done a year+ already. In this situation I could get a BA+MFin in 4 years, maybe less if I do summer sessions/winter sessions.
I am new to this blog so please correct me if I am posting in the wrong section etc. Thank You!
To clarify, you want to do a 4 year undergrad degree at UVA in something that isn't Commerce, then do the MS in Commerce program?
I say go for it, if cost isn't an issue. A lot of my friends go there, not McIntire though, but they like it regardless. UVA undergrad is good, and a strong quant background will help with MFin immensely.
Why don't you transfer into Mcintire and just do 4 years without going into the MComm (not MSF at UVA btw.)
