As are Berkeley and UVA. Any university where you HAVE to be a specific major to get recruited is not a true target. That is all.

Horrible take. It's not like you can study underwater basket weaving at Yale and waltz into IBD. Sure NYU and Mich as a whole aren't targets, but STERN and ROSS are huge targets that compete with the ivies.

You're honestly so out of touch and disillusioned from reality if you think getting into one of these schools means you only have a "semi-good" shot at having a decent career. 99% of American students would kill to go to NYU or U-M.
95% of American students don't even give a crap about school or their futures lmao. Michigan and NYU aren't terrible schools, but fact of the matter is that they aren't targets in the strictest sense when it comes to finance recruiting. From a prestige standpoint there's an argument to be made that they're not all that great either
99% of kids would not kill to go to UM lmao at least 30% of my graduating high school class would have been disappointed to go there
