MiM vs MFE/MFA, and US vs UK

Hi All,
Current 2nd-year undergraduate at UK target (not Oxbridge) considering options for Master's degrees as an alternative to FT (2024 SA applications didn't go so well).

I'm curious about the IB/PE career prospects for MiM graduates (e.g. LBS - where the employment report was less encouraging than the MFA) vs MFA/MFE, and how UK employers view US b-schools?

Some M7s offer MiM programs that sound fun e.g. Booth, but their MiM course is new so no employment/prestige/etc. information is available. As a UK citizen, I also have stronger ties to London and worry that US programs might get less recognition, and will probably have less of a network here than say LBS

Any feedback is welcome.

Go to school where you want to work. USA MIM, hoping that the name brand carries you isn't a good strategy, as you concede.

I'd think the LBS MIM students who want to work in IB have a fairly good shot. You need to consider a lot of them are probably not pursuing this line of work. But of course the MFA definitely has an edge.

But why do you disconsider yourself from applying for the MFA itself?

I haven't ruled the MFA out by any means - it would be my preferred choice at LBS, I was more curious about the actual difference in courses and outcomes (initially advised to do an MiM at Booth by someone affiliated) and how a US MiM would be viewed both in the UK and US

If you're from the US, what are the chances like for visa sponsorship post-graduation? I'd have up to 3 years of OPT but I imagine it would hurt my chances. Salaries etc. obviously better so I'm open to working there
