Navy Enlisted to IB//Non-Target MBA

Hello Everyone,

I have been lurking these forums for a while now, but haven't seen a situation that is quite close to mine for comparison and would appreciate a little guidance.

Background: I am an E6 in the Navy as a Nuclear Electrician (I have been told it matters sometimes..), I will separate in the Fall of '22 with 12 years of service and will be 33. I just received my MBA and an MS in MIS from the University of Arizona with a 3.5 GPA. I know the MS isn't really related to IB, but I enjoyed the data visualization, data mining, and coding aspect of it and UoA offered a dual master's program so I jumped on it.

I understand that the feasibility of entering IB as an Associate right off the bat seems unlikely due to my non-target MBA and not being an officer, but is there potential to enter as an Analyst? I have no problem working from the ground up and proving my worth through merit, but I am just trying to figure out what steps to take to get there.

I am currently stationed in Japan as well so the ability to do informational sessions at the school is limited at best.

Anyways, thank you for your time and any suggestions.

Doug

you need MFE instead of MBA, you won't waste your technical strength in the quant side of the business and there is less age discrimination as well.
