Plan for BSchool

I'm currently a college senior from an elite non-Ivy (think Duke, Northwestern, Chicago, etc.). I will be starting my analyst stint with a BB in New York this summer. I just recently took my GMAT in order to get it out of the way and scored in the lower 700s. I have a relatively high GPA (3.7) as well. My goal is to stay on the East Coast (HBS, Wharton, Columbia, Stern, Sloan).

I know I won't have all the time in the world next year to volunteer or do community related activities, so I wanted to know a good way for my to strengthen my application if I do want to go that route in a couple years. I have volunteered at the unemployment office in my school's area and I enjoy sports and other recreational activities, but I'd love to learn/get involved with something new, too.

I'd really appreciate any advice from people in this situation or input from people on this board.

Use search. The archives have alot of good articles on this. I think the common understanding goes that b-schools realize that you'll be working ridiculous hours at a bank if you're going into IB. That said, they usually look at what you did in college. If you're not in IB or are into something where the hours are different, then you should probably fill your time with something meaningful to you.
