Poll: best of the rest after HYPSW
Aight, school preference/esteem is to some extent subjective, but out of interest which school do you consider to THE number “one” after HYPSW in terms of prestige, brand name, general reputation etc.
Just put down your ONE choice (not a list) and no need to provide reasons or rationale. Just interested to see people’s perception.
PS put W in that list because this is WSO but appreciate that outside the finance world it may not be people’s first/immediate answer.

isn’t H/W > YPS?
I think most would argue H/S > YPW. Even just based on selectivity.
But that’s trivial. They all open the same doors if you have solid EQ and a good work ethic.
sorry I meant when it comes to East coast IB/PE/HF recruiting, doesn’t H/W have a slight advantage?

Assuming undergrad, which there seems to be some mixed answers above, for finance, I would go with dartmouth.

Don't forget Caltech
CalTech doesn't have the same lay prestige. It's West Coast MIT, but there's people in CA that don't even know CalTech, whereas everyone and their mom knows MIT.

Lol as a Dartmouth alum, the school is not quite in the same tier as "the best of the rest". Columbia, MIT, probably UChicago are ahead. After that Dartmouth can compete with any of the other schools (Northwestern, Duke, Brown, etc.)
