Pre GMAT Ritual
If there's one thing I've taken away from university, it's that people have very different ways of studying for exams. Some people slog away in the library studying for hour on end, for what some people can accomplish in half the time using different methods.
I want to know what people found successful as a routine specifically for the days leading up to the GMAT. Not routines during any studying.
Hell, pro athletes have their weird rituals like not having sex before a fight/game, so I'm sure there's some finance nerd who's got their studying rituals nailed down and can share some knowledge.
I'm planning on taking a week off after my work contract ends to sleep, exercise, and study lightly to prepare myself for the day of the test.
Any monkeys out there do anything that they found particularly helpful in relaxing/staying motivated/concentrated?
Nope.
I didn't drink a drop of alcohol for the two weeks prior to the test. Not sure if it helped or not, but it felt like I could think clearer.
also abstained from alcohol the last few weeks leading up to the test. made sure i ate well, exercised and was well rested. not sure if it helped or was just a placebo effect though.
on test day, i drank water between sections, went to the bathroom/splashed water on my face, and ate 1/2 protein bar between quant and verbal.
Always take a shit before the test and no spicy or greasy food the night before or morning of. It's a long test and you don't want to be worried if that fart you let off was wet or not when you're doing math.
