RBS or IU Kelley

Hi,

I'm a current senior in high school, and I am stuck between IU Kelley and RBS NB. At the end of my four years I want to land a front-office job at an EB or BB firm. I know that Kelley has the IBW and RBS has the Road2WallSt. program. I'll pay around 30k at RBS and 60k at IU. Where should I go?

Thanks

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know:

IU Kelley: - IBW Program: Kelley has a strong Investment Banking Workshop (IBW) that places a significant number of students into BB (Bulge Bracket) and EB (Elite Boutique) firms. The IBW is highly regarded and provides a structured path to investment banking. - Placement: Kelley is considered a semi-target school with a good track record of placing students into top banks. The IBW has pipelines to many banks, and the recruiting process is thorough. - Cost: You mentioned it would cost around $60k.

RBS (Rutgers Business School): - Road2WallSt. Program: RBS has the Road2WallSt. program, which is designed to help students break into Wall Street. However, there is less detailed information available about its success rate compared to Kelley's IBW. - Cost: You mentioned it would cost around $30k, which is significantly lower than IU Kelley.

Considerations: - Alumni Network: Kelley has a strong alumni network that is very responsive and willing to help out, which can be crucial for landing internships and jobs. - Location and Lifestyle: Kelley places more students into New York, whereas RBS might have a more regional focus.

Recommendation: - If your primary goal is to land a front-office job at an EB or BB firm, IU Kelley might be the better choice due to its strong IBW program and robust alumni network, despite the higher cost. - However, if the cost difference is a significant concern, RBS with its Road2WallSt. program could still provide a viable path, though it may require more individual effort to network and secure opportunities.

Ultimately, weigh the cost against the potential benefits and consider how much you value the structured support and network that Kelley offers.
