Reapplying to T15 MBA at 34 – Is It Too Late for an International Applicant?

Hey all, so I’ve been battling with whether I should apply to T15 programs again this year. I have 5-6 years of experience in RE and PE FoF.

I applied in previous years to Ross, Johnson, and Tuck, where I had interviews. However, right around that time, I had to leave my role, which interfered with the process, though I was expecting to get into at least two of the three. I also got into LBS MIF, but I’ve always wanted to move to the US, so I didn’t attend since the UK isn’t as compelling in terms of student opportunities and salaries.

I’m aware that age can sometimes be seen as a disadvantage, and I’m wondering if it makes sense to apply again this year. From talking to some students who were 35, they mentioned it wasn’t really an issue and they totally dismissed the age consideration based on US recruiting culture, and they even moved into IB roles in NYC at elite boutiques (diversity and non-diversity candidates alike).

The big question now is whether it’s worth applying at 33 to matriculate at 34. My target roles would be in RE/REIB, and would consider FLDP roles at RE/industrial companies while also recruiting opportunistically for IB (though I’m unsure if there’d be any limitations with my profile).

Would love to hear some input as I’m really hung up on this decision. Thinking of applying to UCLA/UNC also but I would prefer east coast schools although still weighing options.

Keen to hear some feedback.

Thanks
