Recruiting for Impact / Green Energy / Renewable Infa during MBA

Starting an HSW program this fall on a half scholarship. Trying to get a realistic read on whether my background actually translates to impact investing / renewables / infra PE recruiting.

Rough background: About 5 years of experience.1.5  years in banking (credit/project finance heavy), a stint on the LP investing side of a large nonprofit/endowment, plus some time abroad doing early-stage/venture work in an emerging market. Most recently spent at year at a MFO investing in managers in emerging equities as and LMM PE.

No direct infra PE or pure renewables deal experience pre-MBA, but a decent amount of project finance exposure and EM investing.

Trying to figure out:

    •    does this read as a coherent story to infra/impact recruiters or just scattered
    •    is missing a “real” infra internship pre-MBA going to keep me out of on-cycle processes, or is this more of a network-in niche anyway
    •    how brutal is recruiting for this lane right now compared to mainstream PE/MBB at M7s

Would take any honest feedback, especially from people actually in infra PE/DFI/impact funds right now.
