Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights:

  • Include ROTC on Your Resume: Highlighting your ROTC experience can be beneficial. It demonstrates leadership, discipline, and commitment, which are qualities highly valued in finance roles.
  • Discuss During Interviews: Be prepared to talk about your ROTC experience during interviews. It can set you apart and show that you have a unique background and skill set.

Additional Tips: - Outstanding Work Experience: If you have other notable achievements, such as being an Eagle Scout, starting a charity, or extensive volunteer work, these should also be included as they catch attention. - Resume Space: Ensure that your resume is well-balanced. If space is an issue, prioritize experiences that best showcase your skills and achievements relevant to the role you're applying for.

Remember, the goal is to present a well-rounded profile that highlights your unique experiences and strengths.

Yeah put it on your resume. But what are you interviewing for? I thought if you're ROTC you have committed to the military after college?

Can do reserves instead (longer time commitment I believe). Couple kids in my school who were in ROTC are doing reserves and working in IB or consulting

Oh ok makes sense

Yeah, the minimum commitment is 4 years of active duty or 8 years in the reserve. My one fear is that employers will see that I'm a cadet and know that means I'll be missing weekends or even days during the summer which could make them not hire me
