Seeking Insights on MBA and Investment Banking Career Opportunities at UGA with CFA 1 or 2?
Hello,
I'm currently in the midst of planning a significant career transition and have decided to advance my education by pursuing an MBA. I'm excited to announce that I will be starting at the University of Georgia's MBA program this September, having been awarded a full-ride scholarship.
Prior to enrolling in the MBA program, I've focused on strengthening my finance credentials and have successfully passed the CFA Level 1 exam. I am now preparing to take the CFA Level 2 exam, which I believe will further enhance my expertise and readiness for advanced studies in business administration.
Choosing the right MBA program was a challenging process. I received offers from several prestigious institutions including Boston College, Emory, UCLA, UT Austin, SMU, Texas A&M, and Indiana Kelley. However, the opportunity to study under a full scholarship at UGA was a decisive factor, especially given the financial implications of graduate studies.
As I look forward to starting my MBA journey, I'm particularly interested in exploring career opportunities in investment banking. I would appreciate any insights on the employment rates for UGA MBA graduates within the investment banking sector. While I'm open to working in most investment banking firms, I have a specific preference for not working in Japanese investment banks.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide as I navigate this new phase of my professional life. I'm eager to learn how UGA can facilitate my career goals in investment banking and look forward to contributing to the vibrant community there.
Ive never come across an IB Associate from the UGA MBA program. It will be an uphill battle. I would not have turned down the schools you listed like Emory, UT, and IU who send at least a few students to IB every year
