Seeking Pre-MBA Guidance for Recruiting

Attending a top 10 this fall and want to be in REPE long-term, but heard I need a couple of years of IB to do so.

My background’s a bit all over the place—I started with 2 years in RE development, then bounced around three RE tech startups doing everything from acquisitions (1 year) and software engineering (1 year) to being sales and ops manager (2 years).

I’m kind of lost on how to break into the industry, and I’m not sure if heading into banking is the right first move. Should I be networking now with REIB focused groups? Any tips on what I should focus on in the next few months before school kicks off would be awesome.
