Should I even apply to ESCP?

Hey all,

I got into Bocconi for the MSc in Finance degree. Should I apply to ESCP for their MiM if I want to work for an asset management firm or hedge fund? I've never been to Milan, but I like Paris very much.

Controversial

Bocconi student speaking . No sense, ESCP is really really really really inferior to Finance in Bocconi (HEC>=Lse>=LBS>=Bocconi>Imperial>Escp)

Few reasons why:

  1. ESCP admits letteraly everyone coming from a Target uni even if your GPA is really bad , I know more 5 people Who got an offer with like 2.9 (or Less) and no job exp , agile Bocconi is really more selective and everyone knows this (recruiters included) expecially The Finance course (if you are doing a Bsc in bocconi you need to have 3.95+gpa to get into msc Finance without The admission test)
  1. Finance in bocconi is really Made for people Who wants to do HF like you because gives you a strong market base and There are a lot of quant subjects, ( prepare to lose a lot of hair under that point of view )
  1. Everyone Who got into Finance in Bocconi ends up getting a SA or an offcycle followed By a FT offer. I barely know anyone Who got a SA coming from ESCP ( no diversity )

Bocconi is more quantitative true, but saying that ESCP does not place is a stretch. Quite few graduates and interns from ESCP at my bank.

That is anecdotal and not to be generalised but I run interviews and the three Bocconi students interviewed were not good on accounting and maths, but that two ESPC students were better in that respect. Go figure.

With regards to OP, congrats on Bocconi, I would focus on interview technicals rather than applying to ESCP, unless you want to live in Paris and learn French.

Neither from ESCP or Bocconi, studied engineering.

Btw we do not care about the prestige about whether Bocconi or ESCP or HEC and whatnot.

All the same on paper, really. That HEC student that inflated their CV didn't make it to second round, same thing for that Bocconi student that could not articulate their thoughts properly. But that Manchester student that has been grinding with their corporate internships for a listed grocery chain, Big 4 etc was impressive and got an internship.

Quite a few friends from noname unis and they are at all BAML, GS, MS and Citi
