Should I go to Wilfred Laurier (Waterloo) or York University as an International student for BComm Finance?
I am confused about a choice. Laurier has a good co-op program whereas York is located in Toronto. Will a degree from laurier help me get a good job? Does waterloo have some good finance companies as i am looking for investment banking/ corporate finance. What about the starting salaries?Is waterloo a way lot cheaper than toronto?Help

Starting salary doesn't matter at this point and is also easily searchable. Waterloo is cheaper than 'Toronto' but York is in North York so than can make a difference.

I have numerous friends that have had IB jobs who graduated from the DD program at Laurier/Waterloo. You'll likely graduate with 2 yrs. of finance experience due to co-op. A lot of banks seem to love the Waterloo math kids.
I have never heard good things about Schulich, primarily due to the fact that they don't have co-op/poor internship opportunities.
Im at Schulich right now. While the school doesnt do much for you, in terms of internships, the brand really helps. If you grind and network your ass off during school (2 coffees/week) you should have no problem in landing solid internships for 1st and 2nd year summers

I would say what fit is best. partial because I go to laurier and the organized coop is the biggest advantage in the world. although laurier is known way more for buy side, there is definitely a good banking reputation on display as well. the coop takes away the beurocratic networking and makes employment boil down to credentials and qualifications. also theres so many jobs posed that everyone had a chance. I saw 12 jobs posed by RBC CM one night and I got the interview next day. working first coop as buy side ER this summer tho
