SMU Cox vs. Cornell Hotel School vs. Cornell Industrial/Labor Relations vs. CALS
Just what the title says. I'm currently at SMU right now and am considering transferring to either. If my end goal is NY IB which would be best?

Career Resources
hotel school IMO!
Get in first - than make your decision. Cornell Hotel is very hard to transfer into but easy school once you're there. Same goes for ILR but a bit harder academically
Students from both Hotel School and ILR do well in IB recruitment. You will get more finance/business courses in the Hotel School than ILR, so that can be helpful for interviews but besides that not a big difference for recruitment purposes.
OCR recruitment is available to anyone at Cornell.
Title is misleading. This isn’t SMU Cox vs. Cornell. This is Cornell vs Cornell.
Fair point, I just wanted to factor in the possibility of staying at my current school given that I would have to give up my solid GPA and EC's.
If you are able to get into the Alts program, I would seriously consider staying at SMU. Otherwise, transferring is a good option.
If you are able to get in, you would be incredibly foolish to stay at SMU. Being at an ivy, and Cornell especially, which is well known for sending tons of people to Wall Street, is infinitely better than SMU (and most schools tbh so don’t take that personally). This isn’t even a comparison regardless of what your GPA and extracurriculars are. This is akin to comparing TCU to Brown or Dartmouth.
Like another poster said, OCR is strong at every college at Cornell. Your best bet is trying to transfer to hotel. But you might as well apply to multiple schools because it’s a crapshoot. Not trying to be harsh but your post seems very presumptuous.
