Soph rejected from IB club

I am currently a sophomore at a non-target school trying to recruit for IB this year. However, I was recently rejected from my schools IB club, which provides all the connections and teachings here. Any recommendations for my next move here? It seems impossible to break in without the club, and it just sucks. Also trying to find internships for next summer, would appreciate any advice.

Womp womp. Rejection is redirection bro. Go get some internship experience under your belt this spring and summer (PE, boutique IB, AM, honestly anything related), evaluate why you got rejected (credentials? personal skills? technicals? etc.) reapply to the club and secure a junior year SA spot. You'll likely face lots of rejection in this field so be bummed for like a day then get back to it and land on your feet.

Also, I shouldn't even have to add this, but network your ass off. aim for 2-3 calls a week for the foreseeable future.

Join other less competitive finance clubs to demonstrate interest. You could also self-teach the concepts and do some modeling on your own. Build some DCF/LBO models on your own and put them on your resume.
