I'm a nondiverse rising sophomore at UChicago looking for a sophomore summer 2025 internship. I do know that all of the BB / MF type places are unattainable as nondiversity for sophomore summer, but does anyone know of some reputable IB/PE/HF/AM/Credit places that take nondiverse sophomores?
Any help would be very appreciated!

i'd just target boutiques/mm that specialize in a part of the market that interests you tbh. I did a soph summer internship at a tech-focused boutique on the east coast (cloud & cybersecurity focus) and it was great.
also, you're at UChi. You should be able to land a soph internship at basically any non-BB/EB/large MM firms regardless of diversity status
It’s possible to get MM Sophomore summer Non-Diverse from a target?
yes, I'm not talking about MM as in Lincoln/stifel/HL/Baird but smaller firms that still operate in the MM space. Usually they will specialize in a single vertical because they are too small to compete for big deals in nearly anything else but their chosen vertical.
It's gonna be random firms like Bank Street Group (telecomm), Achelous Partners (life sciences), Alderman & Company (aerospace & defense). I have no idea if these firms are welcome to sophomore interns but they are good examples for what I'm referring to above.
I would look at firms like this in Chicago specifically just because the UChi alumni network will be very strong
Thanks for the response, that makes sense. I’m not Uchi, I’m at a New England Target, do you think doing something similiar for NYC/Boston/Atlanta is possible? Also, if these firms don’t have formal processes for interns, are they possible freshman summer?
