Stuck in the middle... market

I know there is a lot of back and forth on the value of an MBA in 2022.. here is my situation.

About me:

Non-target... 3.95+ GPA.. Finance Major

D1 college athlete

MM GE internship (Tech)

Full Time in MM IB (Tech)

Get the jist? I am already in finance, broke into IB, but I feel like I have been cruising in this in-between land.

I don't have a top school on my resume nor a top BB or PE firm. I understand I am already in a great position to have made it to the MM space, but I have been contemplating if studying for the GMAT + potentially losing 2 years of income + paying 100k/year is worth it with my background (also for reference I am from a middle-class background, paid my own way through college and why I went to a non-target for athletic $)

I know an MBA can be ideal in a pivot situation, but being that I have a finance background, what would you do in my situation?

Probably the MBA. I think there are many advantages to a top FT MBA. I think its worth the money. And Preftige is forever.

Hey! Thanks for your initial response. Ideally, I am currently leaning towards growth investing at a top firm or UMM. Goldman Growth, Insight, and the like.

Do you think I have the ability to break in from a non-target with no alumni in those groups (and similar companies of course), some LMM/MM growth internship experience, and then MM Banking for 2ish years?

Another potential interest is M&A / corp dev for a major company, or the venture team of a company like google and facebook.
