Taking GMAT as rising senior
Hello, I'm a rising senior from the West coast interested in consulting, applying for FT recruiting in the fall. Does anyone have suggestions on how to study for the GMAT over the summer/if it's a good idea?

Do it. You’re in study mode already and it will help you establish baseline expectations for where you might end up for B school. There’s always the option to retake later down the line if you don’t perform as well as you might have liked.
Great time to do it. Buy a couple of prep books—ones that come with practice exams—on AMZN, spend some time with the example questions / exams, and you should be good to go.
Get it out of the way. Plan to study for a couple months and to take the thing twice. I recommend TTP for Quant, Powerscore for CR and SC, OG material to supplement everything, and the official exams to gauge progress. Should be plenty to get you to a 690+ and you can fine tune from there. Good luck!
How is 690 close to enough? With the finance field as competitive as it is he would need at least 740-750 to stand a chance at top programs
Target test prep is the go to for Quant. It's long but covers everything in depth
They are slowly putting out verbal chapters too
