Taking the NEW GMAT

Senior in college right now, considering taking the GMAT this semester. Is it worth it to do so or should I wait for the new GMAT (June 4, 2012) for any reason?

I know scores are valid for 5 years, and I plan on getting my MBA within that time frame. However, will my score on the old exam be looked at differently once the new exam has come out in 2012 (since it doesn't include the new "integrated reasoning" section, etc.)?

Anyone on here read anything about this? Thanks.

The new section probably wont change much as it is replacing a AWA essay. Im sure quant and verbal with have the greatest meaning as they do on the current test

It will hurt people with poor verbal skills very slightly. The problem is the current writing section is broken, and anyone who has taken the GMAT course can automatically get a 6 by following the Kaplan template. The section needed to be replaced.

Anyone can get a 6 by following the template? Strongly disagree. I actually think it is tougher for a mid-level essay writer to get to a 6 than for a mid-level math person to get to the corresponding quant percentage.
