The importance of Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is an intriguing discipline that not only affords a lavish lifestyle when successful, but gives people an opportunity to profit off of their ideas. It's an industry that seeks the most creative thinkers and rewards hard work - something that draws people into starting their own companies. All together, I think entrepreneurship's ability to let someone build a career off of one's passion and capability of giving back to people serves as the two foundational aspects as to why I think entrepreneurship is critical.

If you have an idea that is feasible, is backed by market research and is pursued in a strategic way, one can be very successful. In the US, there are 31 million entrepreneurs who are maintaining a successful business(s) which makes up of 16% of the adult workforce. Putting this statistic in perspective, entrepreneurship is obtainable and not far from reach as many people think it is. Out of these people, 53% report that they're happy with their pursuits, backing the idea that entrepreneurs tend to be building something of their own that they love and enjoy doing. The whole idea of being able to start your own company and profit is groundbreaking and strengthens the notion that if you have a dream, pursue it because there are enough resources that will lead to your success.

Giving back to their community or volunteering their time towards a cause is something people strive to do in order to help improve those in need. Outside from a volunteering perspective, this can also be achieved in professional careers. Most entrepreneurs pursue ideas that they feel will either help people or entertain them. It is a job that allows individuals to give back to their community that is not only beneficial to the recipients but also to the founder. In hindsight, both of these ideas of "giving back" can be a stretch but at the core of it all, entrepreneurship strives to solve problems or fulfill needs which puts peoples' interests at the forefront.

Overall, I think the field of entrepreneurship opens many doors for those who are willing to take a chance on themself. Having confidence, drive and a vision is hard to come by but if you do, you can set yourself up for success while benefiting the rest of society.
