THE SEVEN HARDEST MBA ADMISSIONS INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND HOW TO ANSWER THEM

CLEAR ADMIT, “The leading independent resource for top-tier MBA Candidates” (so they say, but don’t they all), has a rather useful article that details seven of, what they say, are the hardest and most common MBA admissions questions. How did they get this information? They called on three people who had significant admissions experience at top schools, who came up with a list of challenging questions. From this list, they chose seven of the most challenging, posed to candidates with some degree of regularity. In the article they not only, list these seven questions but show how to approach each one of the, Here, however, I will only list these seven questions:

1. Describe a failure in which you were involved 2. What other schools are you applying to? 3. Describe a conflict at work and your role in it 4. What concern do you have about getting an MBA? 5. How would those close to you describe you in three words? 6. How will you take advantage of the resources at school X? 7. People you remember the most break the rules. Do you agree?

To keep this discussion going, could you pick a question and shed light on how you would deal with it. Also, if you are some type of expert in the MBA admissions process, or if you have, perhaps, ever reached the interview stage in the MBA admissions process, could you list some challenging, or odd questions you’ve ever had thrown at you, not included in the list, and show how you answered them.
