Thoughts on EMBA programs?

https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-…

I'm somewhat thinking of Columbia, NYU, Duke, and Wharton. I have ties to Columbia though and would prefer to be there over anywhere else as well as NYU. I can network well in NYC while I'm taking classes every other week.

I would do FT if I could, but I can't with my schedule right now.

I wouldn't overthink this one. I'd apply to all the MBA business schools">M7 EMBAs. Getting into an EMBA is easier than a FT program. Pick the best near you.

Thanks for the feedback. I live in Charleston, SC so the closest school is Duke which is a 4.5hr drive. Getting to Philly or Chicago would be a pain. Getting to NYC would be ok, just more expensive than a drive to Duke. They have direct flights from CHS to NYC

I can’t move right now so have limited options if I want to attend a top school.

dafuqDoesn't Columbia require like 10 years experience & GMAT / EA?

Yeah true

I have narrowed my choices down to 3 schools and 4 different programs. I have 2 admissions interviews on Tuesday. I'm not a big fan of the whole application process.

I want to study in NYC, but its such a pain for me. I could make it there 2 weekends per month if required.

Hi OP, what did you end up doing and what were your thoughts on doing a MBA vs EMBA? benefits of EMBA? do you have to be currently employed in EMBA? i have 10 years of experience, however not currently employed. not sure whether i'd just be back tracking in an mba vs an emba, however, i came from a non target

I think a full time MBA is superior if you have the time and can move. I wasn’t able to move since I’m taking care of family. You don’t have to be currently employed for an EMBA and you also might be eligible for a GMAT waiver with 10 years of experience.
