Thoughts on USF MSFA and MBA joint Program

I am an undergrad at UC Merced with Economics major and Minor in Math, I worked at as an intern with Merrill Lynch this summer. I am planning to attend University of San Francisco fall of 2012. My question is how prestigious is Master in Financial Analysis with MBA is? They prepare you for CPA and help you with study material.

The MSFA Program is 34 units and the MBA is 56 units. If you do the joint program, 24 of the MBA units are waived. So you will take a total of 66 units and get two separate degrees, if you do the joint program.

In terms of cost, the MSFA program will either be 4 semesters of flat rate (currently $12,495) for the Professional, or per unit (currently $1115) for the Accelerated. The Professional is approximately $50,000 USD and the Accelerated is approximately $38,000 USD.

Then, if you continue on to do an MBA, PT or FT, you will continue to pay your primary program rate (the flat rate or per unit rate). Most Professional MSFA students overlap their final two semesters of MSFA with their first two semesters of MBA, taking up to 12 units per semester.

The minimum time is 2.5 years and the maximum time to complete is 5 years.

The cost ends up being approximately between $75-90,000 USD for the joint program, depending how you structure it and whether you start as a Professional or Accelerated MSFA. Separately, they would be at least $105,000 USD for Accelerated + MBA or $117,000 USD for the Professional + MBA.

Please post you views. Also where can I look for internship in Summer of 2012?
