I think a MSF may help. MSF doesnts have to be trading. it could be many within the financial industry.
having a medical degree / engineering from 15 years after BS finance & Work experience is a pretty bad idea--are you sure you're still in the prime age to compete with engineering nerds or medical students that don't sleep?
MBA also works because they tend to make people employable to a new field; however your age will suggest an EMBA, and they aren't cheap-- you can always apply to regular MBAs but they're usually less in quantity in the applicant pool. plus your lack of need for career progression in the past puts you against the general "high potential" MBA applicants.
Your age pushes you well beyond the full-time MBA age range. Most people from your undergrad year probably started their MBAs around 2001 and other grad degrees earlier. So that’s a non-starter.
You would be eligible to do a night program or executive MBA program, but it doesn’t sound like that suits you either. Those programs are very expensive and are primarily done for networking and resume polishing, not career changing. It might be best to continue to look for alternative job opportunities. Lots of traders have faced the same predicament in recent years so it could be helpful to continue talking to former colleagues and trying to find out how other traders have successfully transitioned to new roles.
Thank you both for taking a time to write a response and advice. Except for the paid 'mba admission consultants' I've talked to , almost everyone have given me the same anti-MBA advice because of my age and other factors. I was also told to look into a Doctor of pharmacy program which I am inquiring about currently and that maybe the route.
Thanks again , please feel free if you guys have any more suggestions.

I know someone that did a MS in Math 10 years after PhD in chemistry. he now does risk management for insurance firms.
It's always do-able, but you'll have a lot of resistance. good luck.
