UConn Part time MBA

Hello, I am considering a part-time MBA program at UConn starting Fall 2018. I am currently working at United Technologies in a technical R&D position. I already have a PhD in engineering and have around 4 years of post PhD work experience (currently 35 yo). My main purpose is to transition into a role with more responsibilities and less technical engagement. Clearly, I am not trying to abandon my engineering background and go into finance. My ideal position would be a strategy/business development role with big corporations in aerospace, energy or manufacturing. My company will pay for most of the tuition/fees. I just wanted to know if this is a good career move and whether you think the MBA will help me have a better career prospect upon graduation.
