UF, Emory (Oxford), or UWisconsin

I am a high school senior who is currently deciding on where I should go to college. I was accepted into UF, Emory (Oxford), and UWisconsin. At the moment I really love UF, but I'm not sure how good the opportunities for breaking into IB is. I also love Wisconsin, but the problem I have with it is the same as UF. Emory is a tough one, because it is the "best" school academically, but I'm not sure how their recruiting is in comparison to UF or Wisconsin (It is also my least favorite school personally). All in all it's a tough decision and I'm looking for any insight into what my chances would be like at any of the three.

Go to Wisconsin. If you work hard you will break into banking. Go with the school where you will have the most fun, meet the best people, and can see yourself at for the next four years.

Also will say UF. Great school, many alumni all over the place.

While MSF is the best for placing in IB, there is also many other specialized master programs that place in IB and consulting. The program (MSF) isn’t terribly difficult to get into from what I’ve heard if you get involved early, do the necessary prep, and kiss ass.

I am honestly bewildered as to why people are saying UF. Emory places more and gets way more recruitment than UF, especially given its size. It is also a more prestigious name for banks that don't do OCR. It has a stronghold over Atlanta and Charlotte, basically a better region than the other two. Didn't it have like a 10% acceptance rate this year? If you only care about IB placement, then go to Emory. If you have some major qualms about the social environment and if Emory is way too expensive, then consider the other schools. Otherwise, there is a pretty large gap between Emory and the other schools.

Theres a big difference between Emory and Emory-Oxford in terms of recruiting and that divide is only getting bigger as recruiting moves earlier.

As someone who goes to Emory, don’t go to Oxford unless you love the environment which in your case it doesn’t sound like that’s true. Oxford already has less recruiting opportunities than Atlanta so unless you really want the small school atmosphere, I would avoid it. Now between UW and UF, I would go UF. MSF is a great program there as others above have mentioned and they have decent placement in the southeast and NY. UW is more Chicago focused from what I’ve seen and sends a smaller number of people to IB than UF but isn’t bad either. It really comes down to whether you prefer UF or Wisco and you should go to whichever one you like more.

I’m a current student at Emory and don’t listen to anyone who says you will be at a far disadvantage by choosing the Oxford campus. You’ll have the same exact opportunities and advantages of going to Emory at Oxford and have quite a few friends who go to Oxford they have already landed huge internships for their junior summer at multiple bulge brackets and elite boutiques. I’d choose Emory over the both for academic prestige and the recruiting options that we have. It’s is also a very fun school with a pretty good atmosphere. It will also surround you with like minded students who are very motivated and will push you to do better in school and recruiting. Highly recommend Emory and try joining one of the finance groups on campus such as GIMG. PM me for any other questions you have
