Undergrad Major for Future Business School Applicant

Hello,

I just completed my freshman year at an Ivy league school and am interested in eventually going to B-school. I have an interest in romance languages, as well as quantitative fields like Computer Science and Statistics. I'm also interested in investment banking. A lot of the finance types at my school major in Economics. I have to declare my major by next year. The only difference between a concentration and a major is the # of classes taken. The concentration requirements lean towards more applied classes/less theoretical.

I'm leaning towards a double concentration instead of one major. Mainly because I want to study abroad and won't have enough time to do a single major + concentration (minor). The Econ department at my school is notorious for having a few weed out classes with a forced curve to B-. About 25% of each graduating class is filled with Econ majors. I'm aware that having a high GPA is essential for B school applications. Currently my GPA is 3.8/4.0.

After undergrad, I'm hoping to get into IB or other finance related field for a few years before applying to Business School. I know that post-undergrad job matters a lot. Assuming equivalent GPA/GMAT, and all other things being equal, what would look better for B-schools?

  1. Double Concentration: Statistics & Romance Languages
  2. Single Major: Economics
  3. Single Major: Statistics
