Undergraduate: Michigan Ross or Boston College Carroll

Hey everyone, I'm a high school senior and am in the midst of deciding between Umich and BC as a finance major. I was accepted to both Ross and Carroll and want to eventually pursue IB, but was wondering if either school has a definitive edge in feeding to Wall Street. While Ross may generally be considered the "better" school, will it be significantly more advantageous compared to BC?

Thanks for the response. Maybe I didn’t clarify in my initial question but I have already been accepted to both Ross and CSOM and am struggling to decide between them. I appreciate the insight.

Ross obviously. Boston can be a semi-target only because its close to NY in my opinion.

But then ross is still somewhere between a target and a semi-target.

From a pure ranking standpoint Ross is probably the better option, but I wouldn't say significantly so. Both schools place well in IB/ have a lot of alums on the street, but at the end of the day you should go to the spot where you think you'll do the best/thrive. If you go to Ross, that alone won't get you the job, and if you think you'd mesh better with the people/culture at BC you should definitely go there.

Thanks for your help. I think I asked this question in reply to one of your comments on another discussion. Feel free to ignore that because you answered my question here. Just to clarify, in your opinion, you don’t see one school as having a big edge over the other in terms of landing students on Wall Street?

Think you might've hit another intern with that question lol. And yeah, I don't see a big edge (check the WSO school report rankings to make sure I'm not full of shit), but based on that, I think BC/UM are ranked roughly the same for BB placements. I'd also guess (just a guess) that UM sends more kids to Chicago banks/offices given its proximity to the midwest relative to east coast schools. But in all honesty, you are in a really good spot. Both schools will give you the opportunity to land at a great bank. Like I said before, I think Ross has the edge in terms of prestige, but at the end of the day, that doesn't matter much if you don't do the work on your end. So if you want the prestige factor go to Ross, but if you think you vibe better with BC and think it'd give you a better college experience, go there. You won't be working from a big deficit if one at all. But just my opinion.
