University choice for exchange program
Hi everyone, I’m an Italian graduate student, interested in a IB career, and (hopefully) next year I will take part in QTEM, a program that allows students to do exchange semesters in up to 2 different universities among the partners.
I’ve selected the following uni among the ones available: Paris-Dauphine, Warwick, EDHEC, TUM Munich, HEC Montreal.
I have 3 questions for you:
1) Can a program like this boost the chances of breaking into IB?
2) Which couple of universities would you choose for pursuing an IB career?
3) Which one would you choose among the French universities? I haven’t found much info about Dauphine but I am aware that EDHEC is considered a semi-target, even though Dauphine is top ranked in QS Global.
Thank you!
1. Not directly - if you push it maybe alumni network but as an exchange student not really especially if you are there for a short amount of time.
2. HEC Montreal, EDHEC, Warwick. The others don't even think about it. Also these 3 are not targets (HEC is not Paris so its not the same), if you push it they can make semi-target.
3. EDHEC better for banking for obvious reasons, but still would not call it a strong semi-target directly.
Conclusion - It's an exchange, go where you feel like the city in itself appeals more to you and gives you more life opportunities. You never know who you will meet or what you will generate from such an experience. ENJOY!!!
