USC or Brown Transfer

Just wrapped my first year at USC. Safe to say I’m having a great time and have positioned myself well for recruiting and maximizing my time at USC. However, I was j offered an opportunity to transfer to Brown. Brown attracted me due to the strength of the program offering in my major, the open curriculum, and its proximity to NYC/NE where I envision the rest of my life playing out. From what I understand, USC is a great school if you want to stay on the WC but is lacking on the EC. Would appreciate if anyone has some insights before I make my decision.

Take Brown and don't look back. Beyond any finance-related stuff, the brand of the school will be something you have for the rest of your life. Easy choice imo.

I am in a similar situation: I just finished my first year at UVA (really enjoyed it and made some friends), but have the option to go to Duke next year. Do you think it is worth it? Or is transferring to Duke from UVA McIntire a marginal benefit and not worth the hassle?

Think people discredit usc too much for East coast placements. I go here too and just finished recruiting and myself and many others landed BBs/EBs in NYC pretty easily. Browns obviously better for the east coast but it’s boring as fuck hahaha

Disregard all these people suggesting “east coast/west coast”. It’s a totally irrelevant metric for certain types of schools, which you happen to have offers at (congrats).

Brown and do not look back. You will be competitive and get looks at any spot you build your experience to - the CEO of Panda Express is Brown alum and started at GS, which he got within like a year after an Analyst stint. Insane.

USC is way too large of a school to standout. Firms probably get a ton of middle of the pack USC kids reaching out. Brown? You’ll be the smart, unique guy with a focus planned out and worth an interview to hear the story.
