Vandy MSF
*I have posted before but am giving an update
- 3.32 GPA from University of Florida
- 720 GMAT
1/08/16: applied to Vandy MSF
1/08/16: received a fee waiver
1/12: first rec letter received
1/13: received an on campus interview invitation
1/18: second rec letter received
1/20: conducted Skype interview (couldn't make it to campus, but thought it went well)
I know it has only been a short time since my interview but I'm agonizing over it and wanted some opinions on what my chances are.
Also, if anyone has previously applied-- how long after submitting the app or conducting the interview did it take for you to hear back?
Thanks for your help,
Jacob
With a 720 GMAT, your chances are high. I'd check the average GPA. What do you plan on doing with the MSF? IB?
Yeah, I plan on going for IB. Especially if get into Vandy
Nice! It's a great program.
Happy for you man. How do MSF programs compare vs MBA programs in regard to academic barriers to entry? I know 700+ GMAT is pretty common for m7 with a 3.5+ gpa preferred but I'm curious about MSF programs. I wonder what the stats are like for MIT or Princeton MSF.
Not another gator.... (FSU senior speaking)...But in all seriousness, if you think you interviewed well (they put an emphasis on personality more than almost any program that I've talked to), then you've got a great chance with the GMAT despite your GPA being a tad below their average (somewhere around 3.65).
Submitted my completed app on November 30th I think. Interviewed on campus during a class visit (December 6-7). Got the offer from Cherrie around the 6th of January.
Good luck to you!
With those stats and a good interview performance you have a very, very high chance of the offer.
Quick question:
I saw that the app deadline for Vandy was 1/19/2016.
@jacobc23 you applied on 1/8/2016 and heard back on 1/13?
Does this mean that admissions is rolling?
I haven't heard back yet, I only interviewed. Admissions is rolling though.
Ok wow. I thought that they didn't start reviewing apps until after the deadline. Didn't know it was rolling!
Thanks and good luck.
